Nexbelt Tour Staff Pro Chalmers Wins
(RANCHO CUCAMONGA) – Nexbelt Tour Staff Professional, Greg Chalmers, won the Barracuda Championship on Sunday at Montreux for his first PGA TOUR title, eagling the final hole for a six-point victory in the modified Stableford scoring event.
A point ahead of Gary Woodland going into the final hole, Chalmers needed at least a par on the par-5 18th to wrap up the victory. Chalmers sank an 8-foot eagle putt to seal his victory and collect a paycheck for $576,000.00 and 300 FedEx Cup Points. He is currently ranked at #137 on the FedEx Cup Points List.
“We’re so happy for Greg,” said Eddie Rowland, Co-Founder of Nexbelt. “This is a huge victory for him. His tenacity and work ethic are inspirational. He never gave up and he’s living proof that persistence and hard work do payoff!”
This victory earned Chalmers a two-year PGA TOUR exemption, a spot in The Open Championship at Royal Troon next week and other perks as well.
