Before buying the braided belt, I used to wear ratchet leather belts all the time but my main issue with leather belts is the fact that they are not breathable. This caused my golf shorts to get discolored along the beltline (i.e. darker in color) due to sweating. When I would golf on the extremely hot days the leather belts would lock in heat and sweat; eventually discoloring the beltline which led to me purchasing a braided belt.

After a year of using this braided belt I noticed that it does breathe a lot better and I don't have to worry about sweat lines forming along the beltline. Another thing I noticed is when I decided to go back and wear my white leather belt for a round of golf it was extremely stiff and uncomfortable so I ended up investing in a few different colors of the braided belts and getting rid of all my leather belts.

Overall, the quality of the belt is amazing. It is very comfortable and stylish. I would highly recommend trying out a braided belt especially if you are doing something active since you will notice the difference in comfort.
